Simpson University's Jordan Magera Receives Best History Paper Award

Simpson University's Jordan Magera of Redding, CA, received an award for Best History Paper.

Magera's major is Social Science for Teachers.

The Best History Paper award is given to a student who has shown exemplary work in selection of an original research question; effective use of historical sources including primary and secondary documents; and writing excellence.

Magera received the award during a special spring 2017 chapel honoring Simpson University students, faculty and staff.

His paper, titled "The War on Trade: The Negative Impact of the Continental System and the Embargo of 1807 upon Britain," also won first place in the undergraduate category at the Phi Alpha Theta Northern California Regional Conference for history students in Stockton in late April.
